Fish for a Legend |

Looking down into the start of the many, many snags at Timber Lake. |
The snags range from large trees right down to small stands of saplings. These are all ideal places to fish. |

Timber Lake is a picturesque 40 acre bushland lake situated in the Otway ranges hinterland in Victoria. The lake is some 1-1.5 km in length, of which 2/3 is dominated by stands of drowned timber stumps and logs. This has proven to be a haven for the powerful native fish that reside there. Timber lake is home to lure and fly munching cod in excess of 20 kg (44lb), golden perch breaking the 6 kg (13lb) barrier. In addition to the cod and golden perch, the stealthy and hard fighting silver perch have established a targetable population. |
